A total of twelve case studies will be involved in a participatory monitoring process, as well as training and mentoring programme, with the objective of studying creative responses to key local issues and the generated transformative effects at local level, as well as strengthening internal capacity.

Over the course of the last ten months the IN SITU research team from the Utrecht University – led by Prof. Carolina Castaldi, has carried out research on the role of creative and cultural workers for contribute to innovation and regional development in non-urban regions across Europe.
Throughout the months of March and April 2023, IN SITU Lab Partners are organising numerous public workshops and local cultural mapping exercises to uncover residents’ local development issues.
On April 6, 2023, the IN SITU report “Drivers of innovation of CCIs located in non-urban areas” (Deliverable 2.1), part of Work Package 2 on “Innovation and transformation of CCIs,” was submitted to the European Commission.
