IN SITU: Culture in the Making, Innovation at the Edge | Documentary

The documentary IN SITU: Culture in the Making, Innovation at the Edge captures the experiences and trajectories of the six IN SITU Labs and their associated case studies, highlighting the contribution of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) to innovation, resilience, and sustainable development in non-urban territories. Through its participatory production model, the documentary aims to make project results accessible to a wide range of audiences, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, cultural and creative actors, students, and local communities.

The film was developed through a collective production model reflecting IN SITU’s commitment to co-creation and knowledge co-production. Rather than being externally produced through a traditional top–down storytelling approach, the documentary involved Labs and case studies as active contributors to the creation process. They contributed by recording interviews, capturing footage of their territories, activities, and practices, and providing audiovisual materials that were subsequently curated and assembled into a coherent narrative by an external documentary filmmaker specially hired for this work and the partners involved in the task.
